Files your agent sends you
Your agents send you reports, spreadsheets, documents and clips as files in their messages. This page says how to open them. To send a file to an agent, see Send a file to your agent.
In the console (web and desktop app)
A file shows in the message as a row with its type, its name and its size, then Open and Download.
- Open shows PDFs, pictures, text, audio and video in a new browser tab. In the desktop app the file fills the window instead; press Close to come back.
- A Markdown (
.md) file opens as a page over the chat, formatted the way the chat shows it: headings, lists, tables and links. Press Close to come back. - CSV, JSON and log files open as plain text.
- Types a browser can't show have no Open. Download saves the file under its own name.
- When a message has two or more files, Download all (.zip) saves them as one .zip.
In the phone app
A file shows as a chip with its type and name. Tap it to open it. A Markdown file opens formatted in a sheet over the chat; Done or Back returns. When a message has two or more files, Download all (.zip) saves them in one go.
To print or share a document
Ask your agent for it as a PDF. A PDF keeps its headings, tables and links wherever you open it, in any app.
Where the files are
Each file stays in your agent's workspace on your own Ipsion server, and the message keeps it, so you can open it again later. If you can't find one, ask the agent to send it again.
When a file won't open
- "Couldn't open that file. Try again in a moment.": wait a moment and press Open again, or use Download.
- On the phone, "Your Ipsion server needs an update to open files from the app.": open the file from the console on the web for now.
