Using your task agent
Every workspace has a Task agent next to Main and Research. It keeps your work moving automatically, checks in on its own, and asks you only for what only you can do. You don't have to remember which agent was doing what, or chase a reply that never came.
What to hand it
Anything you want finished, not just started. Open Task in your channel list and say it the way you would tell a colleague:
- "Follow up on the investor memo until it's sent."
- "Make sure Research finishes the market map this week, then have Writing turn it into a one-pager."
- "Get Research and Writing to work on the launch post together and give me the final draft."
- "Keep an eye on my open threads and tell me if anything is waiting on me."
It replies in a line or two and gets going.
What it does on its own
- Hands each step to the agent that does that kind of work, and picks it up again when that agent is done.
- Brings several agents together when a piece of work needs more than one of them, gives each its part, and puts the result together for you. You see this as a new thread under Task, where each agent posts its part.
- Checks in on its own, also while you are away, and keeps quiet when there is nothing new.
What it asks you
Only what only you can do: a decision, an approval, a sign-in, a file you have. It asks once, in a line, and waits; you find the question in its chat. It does not message anyone outside your workspace for you.
Tips
- One goal per message works best. Say what "done" looks like: "until it's sent", "by Friday", "the final draft".
- You can still talk to any agent directly. The task agent picks up from there.
- To stop something, tell it: "Stop following up on the investor memo."
